The Rainbow Machine

When Biff and other children were playing out side, it began to rain even though sun was shining. Then rainbow appeared in the sky so they looked up it and wondered where the rainbow begins.

In a place far away, there are people who called rainbow makers. They use a lorry called rainbow machine and make rainbow when it rains with shining. 

One of the rainbow makers is young man named Fred. One evening, Other members want to have a right meal so other rainbow maker said "We'll back soon so look after the lorry, Fred". The lorry parked on the road so Fred found a traffic warden, he climbed into the driver's cab in haste and drove it away. He thought it is fun to drove it but he is newcomer so he gradually shake. He tried to return but in the moment, to lorry stuck in the mud. He got not be able to go back to other members! Suddenly there was a door by the lorry. Children's new adventure had begun!  Fred called "Can you help me?" to the children. Will they really help Fred?! (191/9457)

Big Feet

On that day, people had heavy snow. When Chip open the front door, he found big footprints on snow. He called his brother Kipper and sister Biff and they all surprised at the size.  Kipper said it is a big dinosaur. Chip also called his mother and she said it is a big giant. The Flying Carpet

One day, Biff's carpet was torn and it got a big hole. Biff said that to her father but he said he can't buy a new carpet. A few days later, Biff and her father and her brother Chip went to shopping. In a junk shop, Biff found an old and dirty carpet. She really liked it so she bought it and cleaned. Then the carpet looked beautiful and Biff said "It's worth a lot of money because it is old!"

A few days later, Biff was reading a book with her another brother Kipper. Suddenly, the magic key began to glow! Their another adventure had begun. The carpet was a magical flying carpet!!! In the next moment, the magic carpet was flying with making ride Biff and Kipper. Where the carpet take them?! (135/9182)

Little Woman

This story is about four girls in March family. This book is published in Japan and it titled Wakakusa monogatari.

Meg, Jo, Beth, Amy are sisters of March family and they are not rich but they live in a small way. Their father has gone to the war so they lived the four and their mother.The oldest daughter Meg is beautiful and kind woman, but she always envies her rich friends. The second daughter Jo is very active woman. She likes to write stories and she becomes a good friend of Laurie who is a rich but gentle boy live next to her. The third daughter is Beth. She is shy and reserved girl and she loves animals and playing the piano. The youngest daughter Amy is precocious and fashionable girl. Their mother is the very model of mother. The fours meet with many troubles but they come through. Pooh Goes Visiting

Winnie the Pooh is a bear who loves honey. One day, he was walking through the forest with humming proudly himself. At that time, he found a sandy bank. In the bank, there is a large hole. "Aha!" Pooh said and he also think that the hole means Rabbit, Pabbit means Company, and Company means Food! He called out to the hole "Is anybody at home?", then there was a scuffling noise from the hole and a silence after the noise. He was sure that Rabbit at home because of the noise but he heard someone said "Nobody at home!" So he put his head into the hole and finally said "Hello, Rabbit, isn't that you?" Rabbit didn't want to see Pooh because he always eat everything in Rabbit's home when Pooh visit there. But Pooh called Rabbit again and again so finally Rabbit replied and give his food. Pooh ate many honey and condensed milk and started to climb out of the hole.He pulled with his paws and tried to get out from Rabbit's home... But in the moment, Pooh shouted "Help!" Unfortunately, he stuck the hole and couldn't go home! Rabbit pulled and pulled and pulled Pooh' paw but he cried Rabbit is hurting him. Castle Adventure

There were one old woman and three young children. They took a castle by magic and they meet a frog. The frog spoke and he said "I'm a king of this castle!" Three nasty witches turned him into a frog. One old woman and children asked to help him.
A black witch was coming. "Look out!" said the frog. When the witch opened the door, the old and brave woman Gran pushed the witch and one of the children named Chip took the witch's key. Chip locked the door and they took the frog out the room. Black witch couldn't get out.
Everyone run away from the room but a red witch was coming.
"I don't like witches!" said Gran and she put a net over the witch. The red witch couldn't get out.
After that, brave Gran went to the green witch and said "I don't like nasty witch" again and she threw the witch on the floor!
Gran and three children could catch all of the witches. Some frogs jumped into the room and one was the king. They read witches' book and suddenly the frogs turned into people! "Thanks!" said the king. In the moment the witches turned into frogs. Gran put the book on the fire and witches never be able to turn into witches. "Oh, no!!' said them.
The king had a party and thank to the four. They liked the adventure and enjoyed the party.
Suddenly, the magic key started to glow. "It's time to go back" said the child Biff and the four said good bye to everyone in the castle.
Thy fell on to biff's bed. "Oh, no!" said the mother. (273/5787)

Scarecrows

There were little boy and girl named Chip and Biff. They had a little garden and they planted seeds and rut in plants. They were looking forward to grow them, but gird liked the garden and they ate the seeds and pecked the plants. Then Chip and Biff decided to make the scarecrow. They got some old clothes and made a boy scarecrow and Chip called him Fred, but Biff wanted it to be a girl. She got angry but Chip said "All scarecrows are boys." At the moment, the key began to glow! Then the magic took them inside the little house. They made come to magical world and there are many scarecrows like gentleman, lady, fat man and girl!! Fred waved at them and they said they are going to have a dance party at a barn. In addition, they told the kids that "I'm sorry you can't come because you are humans." Then Fred made Biff and Chip into scarecrows and the took part in the party. They listen to the band's play and dance with the scarecrows. It was very fun. "See! There are girls scarecrows! I told you so" said Biff.

Suddenly, the key glowed. It was time to go home. The magic took them home and Fred became a just scarecrow. They made one more scarecrow and it was a girl. Fred and the girl scarecrow made stand their garden and they protect seeds and plants together. (243/5177)

The Little Red Hen

A little red hen lived on a farm with a dog, cat, and a goose. One day, she found some grains of wheat and she decided to grow them. Then she asked "Who will help me to plant the wheat?" but three said "No I won't!" so she was angry and she planted them by herself. She weeded, watered and watched the wheat. It grew favorably but no one helped her. Finally she cut it and made a big bread!! Than three animals ran to the bread and tried to eat it!!! What do you think the little red hen said to them? Gina didn't mind that they had no money but Brad thought money is very very important for marriage. Brad thought how he get the money... Then he remember about the movie that he watched in the past. The movie is about the poor young woman and rich old man. The woman wanted to marry another man, but she married the old man to get his big money. The husband was old and sick so he died soon after the marrage. She got married with the young man.

Brad thought "It's nice idea! I can get money the same way!"

Brad was handsome and he knew it, he approached a rich lonly girl Carrie.

"The Giant's Causeway"

Finn McCool was an Irish giant. He was big and strong,and he won many battles. But, Finnwas

tired of fighting. One day he met a clever giantess Oonagh. They liked each other and live together by the sea. He wanted to live with her peacefully.

Smack!Suddenly a heavy rock landed near Finn.It was throun by Benandonner who is a Scotish giant. "I've heard that the Irish giant FInn McCool is now old and feeble. You call youself a fighter? Fight against me!" Benandonner shouted. Finn got angry and said "I'm a strongest fighter in this land!" Then Benandonner tell "It's only the water that's stopping me from comming to fight you! I'm not afrad water, but I just don't know hoe to swim." Hearing that, Finn said "I'll make a causeway and then you 'll have to come over and fight."

Finn building the causeway to pull great slabs of rock off the cliff. He threw them into the water to make a path. It was very hard work and he got tired before the fight. After finishing the work, he said "I'm going to bed now. I need to get some strength before I face Benandonner" to Oonagh. In the early morning, Oonagh woke up because of the someone's loud voice. Benandonner was walking over the causeway and shouting! Oonagh think he is bigger than Finn. Finn was still asleep and Oonagh knew that he was too tired to fight.

Suddenly Oonagh had a plan. She woke Finn and made him put on her biggest dress. Ripping open a pillowcase and she trid it around Finn's face. Finally , she sat down and waited. Soon, Benandonner came into ther house and shouted "Where is that feeble Finn? I'm ready to fight! Then Oonagh whispered angrily t o Benandonner, "Be quiet! Finn is not here, and Don't make the baby wake up!" he looked over the bed that the baby lying. Then, he was surprised because the baby was huge! If the baby is this size, what size is its father? Suddenly he became nervous. He turned and run back over the causeway. Oonagh's plan had sicceeded!

Benandoner never gaveFinn any more trouble. Finn and Oonagh had been lived gently. (368/4110)

I read "Frog and Toad Together" written about clode friend Frog and Toad. I have read a different story of the series in the text book of elementary school. This book has five stories and I like one of them, so I'll write book review about it.
1. A LIST
One morning, Toad made a list of what he do the day. He wrote nine things to do: Eat Breakfast, Get Dressed, Go to Frog's House, Take walk with Frog, Eat lunch, Take a nap, Play games with Frog, Eat Supper, Go to sleep. He has done the thing, he crossed out the words. He acted according to the list and went to Frag's houe and they went to walk. Toad crossed out "Take walk with Frog", but just then there was a strong wind and it blew the list out of Toad's hand! But he couldn't catch because he didn't write the list "Run". Frog ran and tried to catch it but he couldn't. Toad cannot remember what he wrote the list, so he couln't do anyting. After a long time, Frog said "Toad, it is getting dark. We should be going to sleep now." In the moment, Toad shouted "Go to sleep!". He wrote that in the list. Then he wrote on the ground with a stick: Go to sleep and crossed out it. Toad said "Now my day is all crossedout!" Frog was glad to hear that and they went right to sleep. (246)

Flood!

This is a hartwarming short story.The main character is a family. The town they live in had been raining for days. Then the rain is keeping raining, so children couldon't play outside. Their scool was closed and finally their house was flooded! They rescue by the rescue party from the window of the socond floor. They stay in a town hall one night. When they went back to theor house, they clean hard cooporated each other. (77)

THE WIZARD OF OZ

"THE WIZARD OF OZ"
I think many of you know this story. Theheroine is Dorothy. She is a active and brave girl. She lives in Kansas where many cyclone occurd. One day a big cyclone hit her house. Her Uncle Henry and her Aunt Em went down into the cellars under their house, but Dorothy and her dog Toto coluldon't go. The house moved and went up to the top of cyclone with Dorothy and Toto in.
The place where they arrived is so beautiful, but Dorothy gave a little cry because there was not Kansas. Then a old woman wearing white dress walked up to Dorothy and she said "Thank you, thank you!" Dorothy couldon't understand why she so thanked to her. The old woman, Witch of the North, told that when the house landed, it crush bad witch " Witch of the East". People were suffer from her so she thanked to Dorothy. Dorothy asked the way how to go back to Kansas, Witch of the North answed that she don't know that, but she advised to visit The Wizard of Oz. He is a famous wizard and he lives in the Emerald City. Hearing that, Dorothy decided to go to the city. The good witch gave masical kiss to Dorothy, what make anyone can't hurt her.
The road to the Emerald City is long. Dorothy got many of friends Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion who wants to meet the Wizard. They cooperated and finally they could meet the Wizard. But he suggested a condition to grant their wish. It is to kill the bad Witch of the West. Then they went to the witch's house. They were caught once, but Dorothy killed her to hit water to her. Her weakness was water! Then the friends visit to the Wizard of Oz again. But the wizard was, say, just a old man came from Kansas! He acted as if he is a great wizard. The friends dissapointed but the wizard gray their wish by his own way. Dorothy also could gp back to Kansas. (344)

I readed the book "Mystery in London". It has interesting characteristic. Readers of the book identify a detective and don't have to read it in tern like page 1, page 2, ・・・. Each end of paragraph have two or three choices to designate which paragraph they go, and readers have to choose one of the choice. If readers choose the wrong choice, they can't find the culprit. I started over to reading about three times.

The system is a little complex, but the story is really simple.

A murder happened in the street near a bar. A woman named Annie attacked with a long knife and there was blood everywhere. She wasn't dead, but it was crime by "Whitechapel Killer" who killed six women in the same way.

A famous detective asked to reaserch for the affair. He went to the street and see the scene. He askedsome questions to people around there, and He went to Annie's house. He found a letter in the house and it was sent by her boyfriend Jack who is sailor. Jack said "Tomorrow my ship is going to India. Please meet me at the Rose and Crown tonight." in the letter. Rose and Crown is a restaurant near the street! A detective convinced "the Whitechapel Killer is Jack!"

A detective went to the port and found Jack. He asks " do you know Annie?" then Jack suddenly took a knife out of his pocket which he used mueder! A detective and captain of Jack's ship held down Jack and arrested him. (256 words)

Stella is a woman who works as a chef and she was afraid of going around with a man. Tony lives next door to stella. He has divorsed his wife and moved to present house. He has a daughter but he couldon't lives with her. Stella became to worry about him and they gradually fall in love.

One day, Tony's former wife Kathy told him that Dasy and Kathy and her new husband will move far from Tony. Hearing that fact, Stella told her love to Tony and suggesed to go to the famuly court to live with Daisy.

Finally, Tony couldon't get parental authority. But Stella suggested to move near Dasy and they move together. (117 words)
